Will Planning & Will Writing

A will is a legal document created to provide instructions on how an individual’s property and custody of minor children, if any, should be handled after death. The individual expresses their wishes through the document and names a trustee or executor that they trust to fulfil their stated intentions. They will also indicate whether a trust should be created after death. Depending on the estate owner’s intentions, a trust can occur during their lifetime (living trust) or after their death (testamentary trust). Dfine helps make sure this is done according to your wishes.

Business Succession Planning

Succession planning is a strategy for passing on leadership roles—often the company’s ownership—to an employee or group of employees. Also known as "replacement planning," it ensures that businesses continue to run smoothly after a company's most influential people move on to new opportunities, retire, or pass away. In addition, businesses might want to create both an emergency succession plan in the event a key leader needs to be replaced unexpectedly and a long-term succession plan for anticipated changes in leadership.

Lasting Power of Attorney

The LPA is a legal instrument which allows a person who is at least 21 years of age ('donor'), to voluntarily appoint one or more persons ('donee(s)') to make decisions and act on his behalf should he lose mental capacity one day. A donee can be appointed to act in the two broad areas of personal welfare and property & affairs matters.

Will Custody

Estate planning documents such as wills and trusts typically direct how you want assets distributed at death and identify the person responsible for handling your affairs. For parents of minor children, there is an even more important reason to create such documents: nominating a guardian to have physical custody of minor children if neither parent can care for them. After creating your will, follow your state's required legal formalities to make the document effective. Creating a will usually only takes a few hours, depending on the complexity of your needs.

Corporate Workshop and Seminars

Organisations turn to employee training and development to prepare for the future. Training helps them refresh their workforce, adopt new technologies, and enter new markets. Creating an effective employee training program can be a daunting task. Training logistics can be complex in larger companies, and management and employee engagement are crucial. Book a seminar or a workshop to inform yourself or your workers of the following legalities. It includes the following:

  • The legal terminology and default rules associated with inheritance

  • Some general concepts governing wills and trusts

  • Identifying probate and non-probate assets and distribution

  • Advance directives, including living wills, health care

  • powers of attorney, and financial powers of attorney
